Giants' Caleb Kilian: Picks up loss Sunday
Kilian (1-1) took the loss in Sunday's 2-1 extra-inning defeat to the Rays, allowing one unearned run on two hits and an intentional walk across one relief inning.
Kilian entered in the ninth inning, during which he surrendered a single. He returned for the 10th and intentionally walked the first batter he faced before giving up an RBI single to end the game. He threw 12 of his 15 pitches for strikes while suffering his first loss of the season. Across 14 relief outings in 2026, the right-hander owns a 0.60 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 16:8 K:BB across 15 innings.

Giants' Trevor McDonald: Set for big-league start Monday
McDonald is slated to be called up from Triple-A Sacramento and start Monday's series opener on the mound against the Padres.
McDonald is on track to return to the major-league roster after being sent down Friday. The right-hander has appeared in five contests, including four starts, with Sacramento this season, posting a 5.40 ERA and 1.53 WHIP with 12 strikeouts over 15 innings. McDonald has allowed 15 walks at the Triple-A level, and if he's going to be successful versus San Diego, he'll have to do a better job limiting the baserunners.

Giants' Willy Adames: Doubles in defeat
Adames went 1-for-4 with a double in Sunday's 2-1 extra-inning loss to the Rays.
Adames had gone 12 appearances without an extra-base hit entering Sunday's contest, batting .078 in 52 plate appearances during that span. He snapped that drought in the seventh inning Sunday, collecting his 11th two-bagger of the season. It's been a rough start to the campaign for both the Giants and Adames, as the shortstop is now slashing .195/.236/.346 with 12 runs scored, six RBI and three home runs across 140 plate appearances.

Giants' Casey Schmitt: Drives in lone run Sunday
Schmitt went 2-for-4 with an RBI and stolen base in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Rays.
Schmitt was the only Giants' player to log multiple hits, accounting for two of the team's six knocks. Schmitt has hits in five straight games and eight of his last nine. Seeing the vast majority of his at-bats as the designated hitter after a tumultuous start to the season as the Giants' first baseman, Schmitt is slashing .308/.354/.519 with four home runs, 15 RBI, 12 runs scored, two stolen bases and a 4:22 BB:K across 113 plate appearances.

Giants' Ryan Walker: Blows third save Sunday
Walker blew a save opportunity in Sunday's extra-inning loss to the Rays, allowing a run on one hit and one walk across one inning.
With the Giants nursing a 1-0 lead, Walker came on to face the heart of Tampa Bay's lineup. He walked Junior Caminero on seven pitches and allowed a single to Jonathan Aranda to open the frame. Ryan Vilade pushed across the tying run on a bunt play. Walker has now been scored upon in three straight outings, suffering blown saves in back-to-back appearances. His ERA has swelled to 4.61 with a 13:7 K:BB across 13.2 innings.

Giants' Tyler Mahle: Dazzles over 5.1 innings Sunday
Mahle didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Rays, allowing four hits and one walk with five strikeouts across 5.1 shutout innings.
Mahle was in line for the victory before Ryan Walker allowed the tying run to cross in the bottom of the eighth. Sunday was Mahle's second scoreless outing in his last three starts, and all four hits he allowed to Tampa Bay were singles. After posting an ugly 7.23 ERA through his first four starts, Mahle now owns a 5.00 ERA and 34:18 K:BB across 35 innings. The right-hander should make his next start in next weekend's home series against the Pirates.

Giants' Jesus Rodriguez: Set to be called up Monday
Rodriguez is expected to be called up from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Rodriguez will join the major-league roster for the first time in his career as the team gears up to begin a three-game series against the Padres at home beginning Monday. The 24-year-old has compiled a .330 average with two home runs, 14 RBI, 20 runs scored and four stolen bases over 100 at-bats in 24 contests with Sacramento this season. Rodriguez has operated primarily as a catcher with the Triple-A squad, starting 16 contests behind the plate, but he has also recorded starts at second base (2) and left field (5) in 2026.

Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Set to be called up Monday
Eldridge is expected to be called up from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Eldridge will join the Giants ahead of the team's six-game homestand beginning Monday against the Padres. The 21-year-old has been lights-out at the Triple-A level this season, batting .333 with five home runs, 22 RBI and 25 runs scored over 114 at-bats in 30 games with Sacramento. Eldridge struggled in limited action with San Francisco last season, going 3-for-28 with two doubles, seven walks, four RBI and a run scored while striking out 13 times over 10 contests. He'll look to get off to a better start in his second go-around with the big-league club.

Giants' Josuar Gonzalez: Back in action
Gonzalez (hamstring) went 0-for-1 with a walk in Saturday's 10-9 loss to the ACL D-Backs in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League.
Gonzalez suffered a hamstring injury in mid-March but returned for the ACL Giants' season opener. The 18-year-old started at shortstop but was lifted in the fifth inning, suggesting he may require a ramp-up period before handling a full workload. Gonzalez is considered one of the Giants' top prospects and could eventually reach Single-A San Jose this season.

Giants' Drew Gilbert: Idle for series finale
Gilbert is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays.
The Giants will hold the left-handed hitter out of the starting nine for the second time in the series while the Rays send another southpaw to the bump in Steven Matz. Jerar Encarnacion will replace Gilbert in the San Francisco outfield, covering right field and batting eighth.

Giants' Patrick Bailey: Receiving breather Sunday
Bailey is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rays, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
It's a well-earned rest for Bailey, whose only game off in the past seven contests came as part of Thursday's doubleheader in Philadelphia. Eric Haase is stepping in behind the plate Sunday for the Giants.

Giants' Trevor McDonald: Returned to Triple-A
The Giants optioned McDonald to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday.

Devers hit a two-out double to center field in the sixth inning, driving in San Francisco's lone run. The veteran infielder has recorded a hit in three straight outings following a six-game stretch in which he logged just one hit. The 29-year-old is now slashing .211/.250/.297 with 12 RBI, eight runs scored and two home runs across 136 plate appearances in what has been a lackluster start to the season for both Devers and the Giants.

Arraez is up to 12 multi-hit games on the season and has logged three hits in four of those outings. He ranks in the top 10 in the National League this season in batting average (.317) and hits (40) across 136 plate appearances.

Giants' Landen Roupp: Gives up four runs in loss
Roupp (5-2) took the loss against the Rays on Saturday, allowing four runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out six across 4.1 innings.
Roupp limited the Rays to two baserunners and zero runs through the first three innings. However, the 27-year-old right-hander was chased out of the fifth after giving up three runs in the frame, highlighted by a two-run single from Jonathan Aranda. Roupp's four runs allowed were his most since April 4 against the Mets (five). He sits at a 3.18 ERA and 1.06 WHIP across 39.2 innings, and his 43 punchouts are tied for fifth-most in the National League. Roupp's next start is slated for next weekend at home against the Pirates.

Giants' Luis Arraez: Doubles in loss Friday
Arraez went 1-for-4 with a double in Friday's 3-0 loss to the Rays.
Arraez accounted for the Giants' lone extra-base hit with a double in the fourth inning, though he was thrown out attempting to stretch it into a triple. The 29-year-old infielder has recorded at least one hit in eight of the last 10 games, batting .300 with five RBI, three doubles, two stolen bases and a run scored in 42 plate appearances during that span. He's slashing .303/.331/.369 with 11 RBI, 11 runs scored and four stolen bases across 132 plate appearances on the campaign.

Giants' Robbie Ray: Takes loss despite quality start
Ray (2-4) took the loss Friday against the Rays, allowing three runs on four hits and no walks with five strikeouts across 6.1 innings.
Ray was hurt by the long ball in this one, as he served up solo shots to Yandy Diaz and Junior Caminero in the second and fourth innings. The veteran left-hander was, however, able to record his second start of the season without a free pass after he handed out a National League-high 73 walks last season. Ray has an excellent fastball-slider combination and has pitched great overall this season. The Giants have been shut out in three of his seven starts, and they scored one run in another. Ray owns a 2.95 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 40:14 K:BB across 39.2 innings.
