Marlins' Starlyn Caba: Looking healthy in 2026
Caba is slashing .295/.405/.459 with an 11:16 BB:K through 16 games with High-A Beloit.
The 20-year-old shortstop dealt with a thumb injury last season that limited his production at the plate, but Caba appears to be healthy and back on track with his development in 2026. Acquired from the Phillies in the Jesus Luzardo trade ahead of the 2024 campaign, Caba's glovework remains his biggest asset, but he has enough speed and on-base skills to potentially be a contributor at the bottom of a big-league lineup in a few years.

Marlins' Liam Hicks: Goes yard in return to lineup
Hicks went 1-for-2 with two walks and a solo home run in Wednesday's win over the Dodgers.
The 26-year-old sat out Tuesday's game due to an illness, but Hicks looked pretty healthy in his return to action when he led off the second inning by launching a Tyler Glasnow offering down the right-field line for his seventh homer of the year. It was Hicks' third long ball in his last four starts, and on the season he continues to boast an impressive .315/.365/.576 slash line over 104 plate appearances with one steal, 18 runs and 28 RBI -- tied with Matt Olson for second in the National League behind Sal Stewart's 29.

Marlins' Esteury Ruiz: Homer, stolen base in win
Ruiz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a stolen base in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Dodgers.
Making just his second start since returning from the IL, Ruiz had a big impact in Wednesday's victory over his former team. He put Miami ahead 2-1 in the fifth inning with his first homer of the year, which came off Tyler Glasnow, and he subsequently added his first steal. Ruiz appeared in 19 games with the Dodgers in 2025, where he slashed .190/.261/.333 with just one homer and four steals. The speedy outfielder should see fairly regular playing time in Miami's lineup, particularly against left-handed pitching.

Marlins' Calvin Faucher: Notches first save Wednesday
Faucher earned the save in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Dodgers, working around three walks in a scoreless ninth inning.
After Pete Fairbanks (hand) landed on the IL on Tuesday, it was Faucher who got the second crack at the ninth-inning job Wednesday after Tyler Phillips picked up the save Tuesday night. It didn't come easy for Faucher, who walked the bases loaded with one out, but he managed to induce a game-ending double play off the bat of Freddie Freeman to seal a one-run victory. The 30-year-old Faucher sports a 4.91 ERA with a 1.82 WHIP and 13:12 K:BB across 11 innings this season. He figures to share closing duties with Phillips and Anthony Bender while Fairbanks is sidelined.

Marlins' Sandy Alcantara: Sharp against Dodgers
Alcantara did not factor into the decision Wednesday against the Dodgers, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out four.
While he didn't come away with the win, Alcantara did deliver a second straight quality start en route to an eventual 3-2 Miami victory. Alcantara has delivered quality starts in five of his seven outings this season. His ERA sits at 3.04 with a 1.16 WHIP and 31:15 K:BB across 47.1 innings. Alcantara is currently lined up to face the Orioles at home his next time out.

Marlins' Christopher Morel: Looks stuck in part-time role
Morel is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.
After being reinstated from the 10-day injured list Monday, Morel ended up making just one start during the Marlins' three-game series in Los Angeles. Though he had appeared to secure the everyday gig at first base coming out of spring training before straining his left oblique right before the Marlins' Opening Day game, Morel looks like he'll have to settle for a part-time role now that he's healthy again. Connor Norby has served as the Marlins' primary first baseman this season amid Morel's extended absence and has provided an adequate .722 OPS over 105 plate appearances.

Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Receiving day off
Ramirez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.
Ramirez will be rested for the day game after he started behind the plate in the first two contests of the series in Los Angeles. Liam Hicks will handle catching duties Wednesday, and Kyle Stowers will serve as Miami's designated hitter.

Marlins' Liam Hicks: Cleared to start Wednesday
Hicks (illness) will start at catcher and bat fifth in Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.
Hicks ended up being scratched from the lineup ahead of Tuesday's 2-1 win after falling ill, but he made enough progress overnight to rejoin the starting nine for the series finale. The second-year player has been one of the more productive bats in the Miami lineup this season, producing a 143 wRC+ while batting .311 with six home runs, one stolen base, 27 RBI and 17 runs in 28 games.

Marlins' Otto Lopez: Keeps banging out hits
Lopez went 3-for-5 with a double in Tuesday's win over the Dodgers.
The 27-year-old shortstop has hit safely in 14 of the last 16 games with three three-hit performances, a stretch in which he's batting .333 (22-for-66). Lopez is coming off a breakout 2025 but doesn't appear to have reached his ceiling, and the surge has pushed his slash line on the season to .325/.366/.500 with seven doubles, two triples, three homers, four steals, 12 RBI and 20 runs in 29 contests.

Marlins' Connor Norby: Swipes first two bags of season
Norby went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases in Tuesday's win over the Dodgers.
A late addition to the lineup at DH due to an illness for Liam Hicks, Norby knocked a one-out single in the eighth inning and then promptly stole second and third base off the battery of Blake Treinen and Will Smith before being stranded. They were the first SBs of the season for Norby, and over his last 18 games he's slashing a solid .270/.347/.460 with three doubles, three homers, five runs and nine RBI. With Christopher Morel off the IL, Norby could be headed for a super-utility role that sees him bounce between first base, third base and DH as needed.

Marlins' Christopher Morel: Hitless in season debut
Morel went 0-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's win over the Dodgers.
Activated from the injured list Monday after an oblique strain delayed the start of his 2026 campaign, Morel got the start at first base Tuesday and batted eighth in his Marlins debut. The 26-year-old was expected to be the team's primary first baseman back in the spring, but Connor Norby has worked his way into the picture in his absence. The two both hit right-handed, so a platoon is unlikely, but they could split the workload until one of them seizes the starting gig with a hot streak.

Marlins' Tyler Phillips: Logs save sans Fairbanks
Phillips recorded a save against the Dodgers on Tuesday, allowing one hit over one scoreless inning. He didn't walk or strike out any batters.
With Pete Fairbanks (hand) landing on the injured list earlier Tuesday, Miami turned to Phillips in the ninth inning while holding a one-run lead. The right-hander got the job done, working around a one-out infield single to prevent Los Angeles from catching up. Phillips blew a save chance one day earlier, but it's hard to blame him for that, as he inherited a one-out, bases-loaded situation after Fairbanks exited with his injury. The Marlins may ultimately opt for a committee approach to closer while Fairbanks is sidelined, but Phillips figures to factor into the mix for save chances during that time, as he's posted a strong 1.47 ERA along with a 1.36 WHIP and 19:12 K:BB with two saves through 18.1 innings spanning 10 appearances this season.

Marlins' Janson Junk: Logs another scoreless outing
Junk (2-2) earned the win over the Dodgers on Tuesday, allowing three hits and issuing one walk while striking out four batters over six scoreless innings.
Junk thoroughly handled the Dodgers' talented offense, holding Los Angeles without an extra-base hit. He escaped a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the first inning and then breezed through his remaining five frames, as the Dodgers were unable to get another runner to second base while he was in the game. Junk has won each of his past two starts, tossing a combined 11 scoreless innings during that span. The right-hander's lack of strikeouts (he has just 21 punchouts through 33 frames on the campaign) limits his fantasy appeal, but Junk has otherwise put up good numbers this season, registering a 3.00 ERA and 1.06 WHIP through six starts. He's lined up to next face the Phillies at home.

Marlins' Connor Norby: Late addition to lineup
Norby will serve as the Marlins' designated hitter and bat sixth against the Dodgers on Tuesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Norby was originally slated for a day off Tuesday, but he'll now enter the lineup as the DH while Agustin Ramirez moves to catcher to cover for Liam Hicks (illness). Norby is slashing .200/.282/.314 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored over 39 plate appearances across his last 10 games.

Marlins' Liam Hicks: Scratched with illness
Hicks was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers due to an illness, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Hicks is slashing .340/.353/.574 with 14 RBI and seven runs scored across his last 51 plate appearances, but an illness will prevent him from facing the Dodgers on Tuesday. Agustin Ramirez will move behind the plate as a result, opening up the DH spot for Connor Norby.

Marlins' Connor Norby: Taking seat Tuesday
Norby isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Dodgers.
Norby will head to the bench Tuesday after going 1-for-3 with a walk in Monday's series opener. Christopher Morel will pick up a start at first base and bat eighth.

Marlins' Cade Gibson: Joining big club
The Marlins recalled Gibson from Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday.
Gibson has spent the entire season with Jacksonville, where he owns a 2.63 ERA and 0.76 WHIP through 13.2 innings. He'll be summoned to the majors to make up for the loss of Pete Fairbanks (hand), who landed on the injured list in a corresponding move. Gibson put up a 2.63 ERA over 54.2 innings in the big leagues last season but is likely to be used primarily in middle relief while with Miami.
