Commanders' Antonio Williams: Doesn't suit up Friday
Williams didn't play in Friday's preseason loss to the Ravens.
The third-round rookie out of Clemson has been coming on strong as training camp has progressed, and per Donna Hopkins of MASN, Williams opened some eyes in joint practices against Baltimore earlier in the week when he beat Kyle Hamilton in one-on-one drills. The fact that Williams was held out Friday along with the rest of the Commanders' key personnel could be a strong sign that he's won the No. 3 receiver job to begin the season over the likes of Luke McCaffrey, Dyami Brown and Jaylin Lane, but he still faces an uphill battle for targets working behind Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs.

Commanders' Luke McCaffrey: One grab against Ravens on Friday
McCaffrey caught one of three targets for 17 yards in Friday's 41-3 preseason loss to the Ravens.
The Commanders rested all their key personnel and only managed 102 passing yards on the night on 16 completions, putting McCaffrey's line in some perspective. The third-year wideout is fighting for the No. 3 spot on the depth chart behind Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs, but the fact that third-round rookie Antonio Williams didn't play at all Friday could be a sign that the job has slipped away from McCaffrey.

Commanders' Kaytron Allen: Poor showing in preseason finale
Allen carried the ball three times for four yards and lost a fumble in Friday's 41-3 preseason loss to the Ravens. He added nine yards on one kickoff return.
With the Commanders resting all their key personnel in the team's final exhibition contest, Allen got the start in the backfield but coughed up the ball on his first touch, setting the Ravens up for their first TD of the night. The 2026 sixth-round pick is expected to begin the regular season as the third back on the depth chart behind Jacory Croskey-Merritt (lower body) and Rachaad White (hamstring), but if the injuries to either RB linger into Week 1, Allen could see a bigger workload than expected in his NFL debut.

Commanders' Rachaad White: Won't play Friday
White (hamstring) isn't suited up for Friday's preseason game in Baltimore.
White has been tending to a hamstring injury since Aug. 19 that will keep him sidelined for the Commanders' final two exhibitions. He was able to mix into individual drills as recently as Monday, though, so he's making progress in his recovery. White will join No. 1 RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt (lower body) and Jeremy McNichols (quadriceps) on the sideline Friday.

Commanders' Jacory Croskey-Merritt: Sitting out Friday's preseason game
Croskey-Merritt (lower body) won't suit up for Friday's preseason game at Baltimore.
On Aug. 20, Croskey-Merritt pulled up at the end of a catch and run in practice due to a lower-body injury, which now will keep him out of the Commanders' final two exhibitions. He focused on rehab work on the side this week, with the intent to return to practice at some point next week. Rachaad White (hamstring) and Jeremy McNichols (quadriceps) also aren't in uniform Friday, meaning rookie sixth-rounder Kaytron Allen, Robert Henry and Craig Reynolds are the team's available RBs for preseason Week 3.

Commanders' Malik Spencer: Reverts to IR
Spencer (undisclosed) reverted to injured reserve with the Commanders on Wednesday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Spencer was waived with an injury designation Tuesday, and he ultimately went unclaimed on waivers. He will now be forced to miss the entire 2026 season while on IR, unless he's able to reach an injury settlement with Washington.

Commanders' D.J. Humphries: Headed to Washington
The Commanders signed Humphries to a one-year deal Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of ESPN and NFL Network reports.
Humphries is headed to Washington after spending the 2025 campaign with the Rams. The 32-year-old could provide additional depth at left tackle with Laremy Tunsil out indefinitely with a triceps injury.
