Reds' Andrew Abbott: Control struggles in no-decision
Abbott did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Brewers, giving up two runs on five hits and five walks over five innings. He struck out three.
Abbott got off to a bumpy start with two runs allowed during the first inning, but he followed that up with four scoreless frames. The lefty set a season high with five walks and has now issued at least three free passes in three of his past four starts. The walks led to an inefficient showing, as Abbott needed 96 pitches (54 strikes) to record just 15 outs. Following a string of three straight quality starts, he hasn't made it through the sixth inning during any of his past four outings.

Reds' Andrew Abbott: Hit hard in no-decision
Abbott didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 6-4 win over the Pirates, giving up four runs (three earned) on six hits -- including three home runs -- and a walk over 5.1 innings. He struck out six.
The southpaw was able to limit the damage despite being taken deep by Konnor Griffin in the first inning and Marcell Ozuna and Esmerlyn Valdez in the sixth, with Abbott leaving a 4-4 tie after 94 pitches (64 strikes). It's the first time in five June starts that Abbott's served up multiple homers, but on the season he's been tagged for 15 long balls in just 90 innings to fuel what would be a career-worst 3.90 ERA. He'll try to tighten things up in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Milwaukee.

Reds' Andrew Abbott: Stifles Yankees for fifth win
Abbott (5-4) picked up the win in Saturday's 10-2 rout of the Yankees, allowing one run on five hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out six.
The southpaw served up a solo shot to Paul Goldschmidt in the first inning, but Abbott shut down the home side from there and got plenty of run support before exiting after 97 pitches (59 strikes). It was his first win since May 20, but Abbott has given up three runs or fewer in 10 straight trips to the mound, a stretch in which he's delivered a 2.41 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 45:26 K:BB over 56 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, which is set to come on the road next weekend in Pittsburgh.

Reds' Andrew Abbott: Fades late in fourth loss
Abbott (4-4) took the loss Monday, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks over six-plus innings against San Diego. He struck out six.
Abbott was sharp across the first six frames, with his lone blemish being a solo homer by Freddy Fermin in the third inning. Manager Terry Francona elected to send the southpaw back out for the seventh inning, but Abbott was unable to record an out in the frame, allowing doubles to Xander Bogaerts and Gavin Sheets before exiting with both runners coming around to score and give San Diego the lead. While the end result Monday was disappointing, Abbott has righted the ship after a miserable start to the season, posting a 2.48 ERA and 1.18 WHIP across 40 innings over his past seven starts. The 27-year-old is tentatively lined up to take the ball Sunday against Arizona.

Reds' Andrew Abbott: Quality start in no-decision
Abbott didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Royals, allowing three runs on five hits and four walks with five strikeouts across six innings.
Abbott logged his second straight quality start and fourth in his last seven outings while also generating 12 swinging strikes, his second most in a start this season. However, the left-hander did walk a season-high four batters and dealt with some traffic on the bases. All three runs allowed came in the top of the fourth inning via four singles and a pair of bases on balls. After a rough month of April, Abbott has steadied of late, yielding just 10 runs over his last 40 innings (2.25 ERA) with a 28:18 K:BB in that span. His ERA for the season is now 4.06 with a 47:31 K:BB across 68.2 innings. Abbott's strikeout rate (15.8 percent) has dipped a full six percentage points from last season.

Abbott broke his three-game winning streak with a loss in which he allowed solo shots to Juan Soto and Eric Wagaman in the first two innings. The lefty still pitched well overall and has given up two earned runs or fewer in six straight starts, but he didn't get much run support Wednesday. Abbott had an 0-2 record with a 6.59 ERA and 1.78 WHIP across 28.2 innings through his first six starts of the season, but he's gone 4-1 with a 1.59 ERA in 34 innings over his past six outings. He's given up two earned runs or fewer in all five of his outings during that latter stretch, posting a 1.29 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 19:13 K:BB over his last 28 innings. Abbott will look to keep rolling in his next start, which lines up to come on the road early next week against the Mets.

Abbott limited the Guardians to just one run through five frames, and his Reds teammates scored enough runs for him to come away with the win, even with the team's bullpen yielding five runs across the eighth and ninth innings. Abbott had an 0-2 record with a 6.59 ERA and 1.78 WHIP across 28.2 innings through his first six starts of the season. In his four starts since, he has a 3-0 record with a 1.19 ERA and 1.15 WHIP over 22.2 innings.
