Brodric Martin LV DT
Brodric Martin: Goes to waivers with injury
9h agoLas Vegas waived Martin (undisclosed) with an injury designation Wednesday.
It's not immediately clear what kind of injury Martin suffered, but he'll now be exposed to waivers. If he goes unclaimed, he'll have to spend the entire 2026 season on IR unless he works out an injury settlement with the club. He appeared in just one game with Pittsburgh in 2025, logging 10 defensive snaps in Week 13 versus the Bills.

Nick Saldiveri NO G
Saints' Nick Saldiveri: Going to reserve/PUP list
9h agoNew Orleans placed Saldiveri (knee) on its reserve/physically unable to perform list Tuesday.
Saldiveri is apparently still working his way back onto the field from the knee injury he suffered back in December of 2024. As it stands, he'll now have to miss at least the first four weeks of the 2026 campaign.

De'Von Achane MIA RB
Dolphins' De'Von Achane: Inks four-year, $68M extension
9h agoThe Dolphins signed Achane to a four-year, $68 million contract extension Wednesday, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
Achane was headed into the final year of his rookie deal, and new GM Jon-Eric Sullivan and coach Jeff Hafley had been adamant that the talented running back is a building block of the future in Miami, even after the Dolphins shed salary this offseason. Achane's new deal will pay him $17 million per year in new money, making him the league's third-highest-paid running back behind Saquon Barkley and Christian McCaffrey. Achane started all 16 regular-season games in which he appeared last season, totaling a career-high 1,350 rushing yards and eight touchdown on 238 carries, averaging a league-high 5.8 yards per carry. He added 67 catches for 488 yards and four additional touchdowns on 85 targets in the passing game. Achane is still just 24 years old and figures to be a top-12 fantasy pick this season.

Christopher Smith NYJ S
Chris Smith: Waived from IR
9h agoThe Jets waived Smith (undisclosed) from their injured-reserve list with an injury settlement Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Smith spent only a couple days on the Jets' injured-reserve list before parting ways with the team entirely. Unless he's claimed during the current waiver period, he's on track to become an unrestricted free agent.
-
Xavier Thomas HOU LB
Xavier Thomas: Gets waived with injury designation
9h agoHouston waived Thomas (undisclosed) with an injury designation Wednesday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Unless he's claimed by another team during the current waiver period, Thomas is on track to revert to the Texans' injured reserve list. Then, he'd have to stay there for the entire 2026 season unless an injury settlement is negotiated with the club.
-
Benito Jones MIA DL
Raiders' Benito Jones: Headed to Las Vegas
10h agoThe Raiders signed Jones (back) on Wednesday.
Jones appeared in 14 games with Miami in 2025, but he was shut down ahead of Week 17 with a back injury. Now, he's evidently in good shape for football activities again and is getting a shot with a new team. Las Vegas recently lost defensive tackle Leki Fotu to the Giants in free agency, and it's reasonable to suspect Jones could fill a similar role to the one Fotu left behind with the Raiders.
-
Freddie Freeman LAD 1B
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Posts steal in win
2h agoFreeman went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Giants.
The steal was Freeman's first of the season. He logged six steals on eight attempts over 147 contests in 2025, but ankle issues from 2024 have largely taken the speed element out of the 36-year-old's game. He's batting .326 (14-for-43) in May and is up to .277 on the year while adding a .784 OPS, four home runs, 20 RBI, 15 runs scored, 11 doubles and one triple over 41 contests.
-
Santiago Espinal LAD 2B
Dodgers' Santiago Espinal: Hits first homer of season
2h agoEspinal went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Giants.
Espinal has filled a limited role this season, most often getting into the lineup against left-handed pitchers. His third-inning solo shot was his first homer of the campaign. The utility man is batting .200 with a .543 OPS, three RBI, four runs scored, two doubles and no stolen bases over 37 plate appearances. Unless he hits consistently, he'll likely remain in a short-side platoon role at best.
-
Mookie Betts LAD RF
Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Goes yard in win
2h agoBetts went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Giants.
Betts has gone 2-for-13 with one strikeout over three games since he returned from a right oblique strain. The shortstop wasn't hitting all that well prior to the injury, so he may need to shake off some rust over the next few games. Betts is up to three homers, eight RBI, eight runs scored and no stolen bases over 45 plate appearances this season while batting .171 with a .659 OPS.
-
Shohei Ohtani LAD DH
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Continues dominance on mound
2h agoOhtani (3-2) allowed four hits and two walks while striking out eight over seven shutout innings to earn the win over the Giants on Wednesday.
Ohtani's Cy Young-caliber season continues after a 105-pitch effort (71 strikes). It's his third scoreless outing of the season and the fourth time he's logged at least eight strikeouts. Through seven starts, he has a superb 0.82 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 50:11 K:BB across 44 innings. Ohtani is expected to get a full day off Thursday, but he should be back in the lineup as a hitter Friday as the Dodgers face his former team, the Angels, for a three-game series over the weekend.
-
Robbie Ray SF SP
Giants' Robbie Ray: Gets no help in loss
3h agoRay (3-5) allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out two over 4.2 innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Dodgers.
Ray was tagged for back-to-back solo home runs by Santiago Espinal and Mookie Betts in the third inning. The Giants' offense didn't get much of anything going against Shohei Ohtani, leaving Ray to fend for himself in this loss, which was his shortest start of the season. He's still yet to allow more than three earned runs in any outing. Ray has a 3.04 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 49:20 K:BB through 50.1 innings over nine starts. He's projected for a road start in Arizona his next time out.
-
Alec Burleson STL LF
Cardinals' Alec Burleson: Logs three hits in loss
3h agoBurleson went 3-for-5 with a double in Wednesday's 6-2 loss to the Athletics.
Burleson continues to hit well, going 20-for-62 (.323) with five multi-hit efforts over his last 15 games. The 27-year-old has gone 8-for-26 over the first six games of the Cardinals' current road trip, which ends Thursday. For the season, the first baseman is batting .274 with a .795 OPS, six home runs, 30 RBI, 21 runs scored, 11 doubles and two stolen bases across 41 contests.

Daniss Jenkins DET PG
Pistons' Daniss Jenkins: Drops 19 points in spot start
1h agoJenkins closed with 19 points (8-17 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal over 41 minutes during Wednesday's 117-113 overtime loss to the Cavaliers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Jenkins moved into the starting lineup, replacing Duncan Robinson, who was ruled out with a back injury. Jenkins made the most of his opportunity, scoring a postseason-high 19 points, while also adding three combined steals and blocks. In 12 games across the postseason, Jenkins has averaged 8.0 points, 2.8 assists and 0.9 three-pointers in 21.1 minutes per game. However, he has now scored double digits in four of the past six games, seeing elevated minutes on a consistent basis.
-
Paul Reed DET C
Pistons' Paul Reed: Increased role in Game 5 loss
1h agoReed logged 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and two blocks over 17 minutes during Wednesday's 117-113 overtime loss to the Cavaliers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Reed played the entire fourth quarter, as well as the overtime period, supplanting Jalen Duren, who once again struggled to have any sort of tangible impact. While Reed was able to provide the team with some much-needed energy, it was not enough as Detroit snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, falling to a 3-2 series deficit.
-
Jalen Duren DET C
Pistons' Jalen Duren: Struggles again in overtime loss
1h agoDuren contributed nine points (3-5 FG, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one steal in 25 minutes during Wednesday's 117-113 overtime loss to Cleveland in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Duren continues to struggle on both ends of the floor, to the point where he didn't touch the floor in the final quarter or during the overtime period. After a breakout season, Duren has been unable to carry that form into the postseason, averaging 10.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.0 blocks through 12 appearances. Detroit now trails 3-2, with the series heading back to Cleveland. The Pistons would love to see the regular-season version of Duren, something that has certainly been missing thus far during the playoffs.
-
Evan Mobley CLE PF
Cavaliers' Evan Mobley: Flirts with triple-double in win
1h agoMobley ended with 19 points (6-13 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 5-6 FT), eight rebounds, eight assists, three blocks and one steal over 43 minutes during Wednesday's 117-113 overtime victory over the Pistons in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Mobley continues to dominate on both ends of the floor, falling just short of what would have been his first triple-double of the season. At this point, Mobley has basically made Jalen Duren a non-factor, playing a massive role in what is now a 3-2 series lead. Thus far in the playoffs, Mobley has been fantastic, averaging 16.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.3 three-pointers and 2.8 combined steals and blocks. Game 6 will be on Friday in Cleveland, where the Cavaliers will look to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
-
Max Strus CLE SG
Cavaliers' Max Strus: Drops 20 points in Game 5 win
1h agoStrus chipped in 20 points (6-8 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 36 minutes during Wednesday's 117-113 overtime win over the Pistons in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Strus delivered when it mattered most, scoring at least 20 points for just the second time this postseason, having dropped 24 points in the opening game against the Raptors. He also chipped in across all major categories, providing the Cavaliers with energy on both ends of the floor. In 12 playoff appearances, Strus has averaged 10.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 three-pointers in 26.6 minutes per contest.
-
James Harden CLE PG
Cavaliers' James Harden: Leads Cavs to overtime win
6h agoHarden finished with 30 points (8-21 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 11-14 FT), eight rebounds, six assists, one steal and three blocks across 43 minutes in Wednesday's 117-113 win over Detroit in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Harden has had his share of struggles throughout this series. However, the 36-year-old showed up in a big way in Game 5 to lead the Cavaliers to a much-needed win. It was his highest scoring output since March 19. With Cleveland one victory away from advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals, the Pistons will try to knot things up when these clubs meet again Friday.
-
Trent Miner COL G
Avalanche's Trent Miner: Posts fourth playoff shutout
4h agoMiner recorded a 20-save shutout in AHL Colorado's 3-0 win over Coachella Valley in Game 1 on Wednesday.
Miner has four shutouts and a 6-1 record over seven playoff games. He's been a nightmare for opponents this postseason, and he caught a break in this round after Coachella Valley upset Ontario to get here. Miner will look to keep the Eagles rolling with a spot in the Western Conference Finals on the line, meaning he won't be available as a depth option for the Avalanche any time soon.
-
Nico Sturm MIN C
Wild's Nico Sturm: Contributes two assists
4h agoSturm logged two assists, two shots on goal and two hits in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Avalanche in Game 5.
This was Sturm's first multi-point effort since Dec. 7, 2023. He ended the postseason at one goal, four assists, 10 shots on net, 17 hits and an even plus-minus rating over eight appearances. The Wild could experience some turnover at forward this offseason, but Sturm is under contract and will be in contention for bottom-six minutes if he remains with the team to start 2026-27.
-
Matt Boldy MIN LW
Wild's Matt Boldy: Provides pair of helpers
4h agoBoldy notched two assists, five shots on goal and three hits in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Avalanche in Game 5.
Boldy was able to earn his fourth multi-point effort of the postseason, but the Wild's effort to keep their season alive still fell short. The winger had seven goals, six assists, 48 shots on net, 19 hits, eight blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over 11 playoff contests. Boldy solidified his star status with a 42-goal, 85-point regular season, and he'll be a key part of the Wild's core moving forward.
-
Marcus Johansson MIN LW
Wild's Marcus Johansson: Strikes early in Game 5 loss
4h agoJohansson scored a goal in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Avalanche in Game 5.
Johansson tallied just 34 seconds into the game, setting the early tone in the Wild's favor. That didn't last, as the Avalanche controlled the last two periods of regulation and completed their comeback in overtime. Johansson earned three goals in the second round and four goals with 18 shots on net, 21 hits and an even plus-minus rating over 11 playoff contests. The 35-year-old winger is one of eight pending unrestricted free agents at forward for the Wild. He impressed with 49 points over 75 regular-season outings, his best campaign since 2016-17, so he should have a decent market if Minnesota opts not to bring him back.
-
Nick Foligno MIN LW
Wild's Nick Foligno: Scores twice in season-ending loss
4h agoFoligno scored a pair of goals on three shots and added three hits in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Avalanche in Game 5.
Foligno scored twice in the first period, but the Wild weren't able to maintain their early lead. The 38-year-old earned three points, 10 shots on net, 37 hits, six PIM and a plus-2 rating over 11 playoff outings. He's set for unrestricted free agency this summer, but it's not year clear if the veteran winger will continue his career.
-
Jesper Wallstedt MIN G
Wild's Jesper Wallstedt: Blows lead in overtime loss
4h agoWallstedt stopped 30 of 34 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Avalanche in Game 5.
The Wild charged out to a 3-0 lead after one period, but Wallstedt couldn't make it stick. That result eliminated Minnesota, though Wallstedt was largely successful with a 2.77 GAA and a .909 save percentage despite going 5-5 over 10 playoff contests. The 23-year-old netminder will be in a contract year in 2026-27, which is also the first season of Filip Gustavsson's five-year extension. The two make a formidable tandem, which will give Wallstedt appeal as a low-end fantasy No. 2 in drafts in the fall.
